As the City of San Diego continues its phased reopening by expanding neighborhood services,
the San Diego Public Library now offers contact-free pickup service for library patrons at 11 library locations.
The pickup service will restore access to 2.9 million physical materials in the San Diego Public Library's collection
for the first time since libraries were closed in mid-March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This service also prioritizes the health and safety of library patrons and staff while letting San Diegans
pick up materials at designated locations.
Library materials previously placed on hold prior to the March closure and items newly placed on hold since June 1 are available
for contact-free pickup.
Please be aware that library facilities will not be open to the public and will not accept returns until further notice.
Due dates on items currently checked out have been extended to July 13, 2020, without penalty.
