John McAllister Memorial
The Friends of the San Diego Public Library (FSDPL) established the John McAllister Memorial Library Scholarship in 2012. John McAllister, who served as FSDPL President from 2009 to 2011, believed that both quality library staff and the FSDPL were integral parts of a successful San Diego Public Library System. Accordingly, the opportunity to apply for this scholarship is open to all full-time and part-time employees working at the San Diego Public Library.
Applicants for the educational scholarship must be currently enrolled in a college Certificate Program or a Degree Program (Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's) in Library Science, Information Management, or a related field. The educational scholarship may be applied towards registration fees, tuition, books, or other related school expenses.
The conference scholarship may be applied towards the registration fee and transportation expenses for attendance at a library-related conference.
This scholarship is funded by FSDPL, its chapters, and by individual donations. Please note that the deadline for applications is Friday, March 8, 2019.
