Friends of the San Diego Public Library
The Friends of the San Diego Public Library (FSDPL) is a §501(c)(3)
nonprofit corporation which is comprised of Friends' chapters at each of the 37 branch libraries in the City of
San Diego — 35 affiliate chapters, which share our tax identification number, plus 2 associate chapters which are
separately incorporated. The Friends of the San Diego Public Library:

- raises funds to support our libraries and programs system-wide;
- holds a monthly weekend-long book sale to generate income;
- engages in library advocacy;
- recognizes volunteers from all 36 chapters at its annual meeting; and
- provides structure and support for the 34 affiliate chapters.
